The S 5000 Privacy Seating features a base of bent tubular steel based on the archetype of the minimalist sofa, which was first added to the Thonet portfolio in the 1930s.
James Irvine, the designer, created the versatile S 5000 sofa system to suit a variety of interiors.
The S-5000 soft seating range uses a simple, intelligent construction with a modular principle. Inspired by the ever-increasing fusion of working and living spaces, Studio Irvine refined the seating to fit into the modern working environment. The designers added structurally identical arms and backrests, as well as dividing surround panels, to serve as an acoustic and privacy barrier. This functionality makes the S 5000 Privacy Sofa expandable in various ways, and thanks to its variable side panels, it can also be used in open-plan offices. The panels form a framework for multiple cushions, allowing for their loose placement in the desired location. The furniture range also offers optional small laptop support tables that are compatible with the tubular steel frame. This approach creates entire sofa landscapes that are modularly expandable and adaptable.
